Today P2A took part in another Forest School session with the company of our Forest School ranger Caoimhe who came out to observe our class. The children were prepared for the weather as they wrapped up warm to make their way down to Polepatrick! The boys and girls explored their senses and got an idea of what it would be like to be in the shoes of some animals who do not have all senses to rely on. We took part in a blindfold activity with each pair taking turns to be blindfolded and directed to an area by their partner. The children had to rely on their sense of smell, touch and hearing to make up for their lose of sight. We also experimented with our sense of smell as the children identified tree barks that had been marked with a scent and took part in a game to finish trying to catch the ‘wolves’ in our flock of sheep who were identified with a scented piece of material. The children have worked very hard throughout this year along side P3A and we hope to gain our Forest School accreditation! 😁⭐️
