P7 - Schools For Nature (Polepatrick)
In January and February Primary 7 pupils took part in a project called Generation Wild which they worked on in class, completing research and tasks. They then visited Castle Espie and explored the grounds, focusing on the story of Ava the osprey.
All of the activities in Generation Wild were designed to connect people with nature through five pathways: senses, emotion, compassion, meaning and beauty.
On the basis of our work with Generation Wild and our continued focus on nature we have been awarded a Schools For Nature certificate, signed by Sir David Attenborough!
This week there has been a particular focus on wildlife and nature to demonstrate the important contribution that schools make for nature. This will form part of the conversation around the importance of UK wildlife to everyone.
Our pupils really enjoyed spending time in Polepatrick yesterday. They completed a scavenger hunt and followed this up with some maths activities.
Well done everyone, it was great to see you learning and having fun, whilst also being respectful of our local green space! 🌳
