On Friday past, P7A Stepped back to the Magherafelt of 1839, with a visit to the town’s Bridewell – a gaol for the criminals of the town. We met with Mrs McKinley, one of the strict wardens, and walked the gloomy cells as she told us of life within the Bridewell walls and the fate of the prisoners, before exploring the ancient graveyard attached to the prison. It was a really enjoyable and informative afternoon📚
