School Council
In our school we have a dedicated group of children who represent their class on a regular basis at our School Council meetings. We value our children’s voice and use their ideas, thoughts and opinions to improve the learning and school experiences for everyone.
The aim of the council is to provide our pupils with a forum to discuss the needs and concerns of all the pupils within the school. Participation in the Student Council is also an opportunity for our children to contribute positively to the school and encourage their self-confidence and sense of responsibility.
School councillors are elected by their peers at the beginning of the academic year. Children write their manifestos which they share with their peers who then vote for who they want to represent them on the School Council.
Children discuss ideas and suggestions they have in their class and gather their ideas before presenting them to the other councillors. After each meeting, each representative feeds back to their class on the discussions and decisions made during the meeting and gather their opinions on them. Miss Canavan leads our School Council and works with them to ensure their ideas and suggestions contribute to the life of our school.
We look forward to seeing what the School Council get up to this year!
