Our Active School Travel programme

Our school works in partnership with 'Sustrans' who deliver the Active School Travel Programme across Northern Ireland. They have worked with over 400 schools across the country and we are very luck to be one of them!

Active school travel has been a great way to increase our children’s physical activity levels. Our Sustrans Active Travel Officers have been great in helping to co-ordinate a range of activities, events and curriculum lessons for our classes.

Through being involved with Sustrans we have seen an increase in the number of children who regularly walk, cycle or scoot to school. The participation in the Sustrans programme has meant increased road safety awareness along with increased physical activity levels and less pollution around our school.

Our Active Travel Champions are Mrs McKay and Miss Cassidy.
